The story behind KRiT

From sweaty palms to Danish-made liquid chalk.

KRiT didn’t start as a big business idea. It started with a very specific problem in training: my grip was holding me back.

I was studying automation technology at UCN when I started training at PureGym. At first, it was just a way to train alongside my studies, but I soon got hooked on powerbuilding, strength training and bodybuilding. I became curious about progression, technique, building muscle and the small details that can make a difference to performance.

As I got stronger, one thing became clear: my hands were the limiting factor. My palms got sweaty, the bar slipped, and I could feel that it was no longer just about strength. It was about control.

At the time, I didn’t really know about chalk. It wasn’t until I saw local powerlifters lifting heavy at the gym that I was introduced to it. They used chalk, they lifted heavy, and it worked. So I bought my first chalk product.

As a student, I mostly bought based on quantity — getting as much as possible for my money. But the more products I tried, the more questions I began to ask. Why did some last better than others? Why did I have to keep reapplying? Why did so much liquid chalk feel like the same product in a different bottle?

“If I can understand the product, I can improve it too.”

That was the start of KRiT. First, I was just geeking out. Then it became an experiment. I started reading about ingredients, consistency, formulations and resin — and how small adjustments could completely change how it felt on your hands.

Little by little, I found a formula that solved my own frustration. A liquid chalk that bonded better to the skin, lasted longer and didn’t need reapplying after every single set. It no longer felt like homemade chalk. It started to feel like product development.

During my professional bachelor’s degree in Product Development and Technical Integration, I began talking about it more openly at the gym. More people asked if they could try my chalk. That response changed things. Suddenly, I wasn’t the only one who could see the potential.

Things took off from there. I started looking into packaging, a logo, an online shop, order management systems, a business bank account, social media and marketing. I carried out user research on everything from cap types to bottles and started building KRiT alongside the people who would actually use the product.

Today, KRiT is developed in close collaboration with the Instagram community, athletes and users from the strength training community. The aim isn’t just to make another bottle of liquid chalk. It’s to create products that stand out in function, design, quality and identity.

KRiT is a Danish entrepreneurial venture, built from the ground up in Aalborg. The vision is to establish local production of liquid chalk, with innovation, feedback and real user experience at the heart of everything we make.

I’m now studying for a master’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation while running KRiT alongside my studies. I use the business as a case study, test theories in practice and work towards September 2026, when I’ll begin a full-time internship in my own company.

The dream is to grow KRiT into a proper livelihood, establish production here in Aalborg and invest in machinery and equipment, so Denmark can have a serious, innovative, Danish-made liquid chalk.

When you support KRiT, you’re not just supporting a product. You’re supporting a Danish entrepreneurial venture, local production and the vision of building something unique from the ground up.
